There are so many types of ways to measure if a company is getting enough out of social media. Fans, Followers, Likes, etc. can be used, but are they actually important? Mashable explored some social metrics that actually matter and will prove that social media has a place in a business. I tweeted this article already, but I loved it so much I wanted to add my own thoughts on!

Snapchat

Some people believe that Snapchat can only be used for sexting. I am here to scream and shout that this is absolutely not true! There will, of course, be that group of believe who use this app for evil, but I believe that Snapchat can be so much more than that.

Innovative TV: Fashion Star

I’m not sure if any of you have ever seen the show Fashion Star, but it’s pretty interesting. I was flipping through the channels last Friday night due to 1) Boredom & 2) lack of brain activity due to finals.

Anyway, this show Fashion Star, is about a bunch of designers who want to get their designs into big name stores a la Macy’s, Express & Sak’s. Okay, okay sounds like any old reality competition show, however they add an extra twist! I believe the final prize is having an exclusive deal with one (or maybe all?) of the brands. But, each week there is a fashion show, and the buyers from each store bid on the clothes if they like the design. If they win the bidding war, the clothes are then automatically up for sale on the store’s website.

I’m coming back!

I’ve been away for the past few months blogging on sharkmates, but I’ll be transitioning back to this blog for the time being.
